On November 23rd 2010 North Korea fired dozens of artillery shells at the South Korean island of Yeonpyeong. The bombardment killed at least 2 South korean soldiers and destroyed many more homes. It is one of the worst attacks on South Korea by North Korea since the Korean War ended in 1953. Since that time numerous breaches of the peace have occured, but none as bad as this attack. The world's political leaders are working overtime to try and diffuse the situation as none is eager to find out if North Korea really has nuclear weapons and whether it is willing to use them.
