When the Soviet Union broke up in the early nineties a lot of military hardware went "missing". Most of it to be used in Africa. Some of the hardware was left behind and left to fend for itself in forgotten places across Russia and the former Warsaw Pact states. It is hardware that used to keep Western politician and citizen awake at night with fear. These are photos of such hardware. The L-29 Delfin training aircraft and Mi-2 helicopters on display look less threatening now than they did then, quietly waiting for nature - or an African warlord - to take them.
