Mount Ontake In Japan Erupts

The Japanese volcano Mount Ontake erupted unexpectedly on Saturday. Mount Ontake is a popular destination for climbers and hundreds were on the mountain sides when the eruption took pace. The eruption left groups of climbers scrambling for cover, but it is feared up to 36 people may have been killed by falling debris and ash. Rescue effort have been halted because of fears of rising levels of toxic gases.
