In The Picture: Bas van der Poel

This time it's Bas van der Poel's turn to show-off some of his work. Urban Exploration also known as Urban Exploring or Urbex is the examination of the normally unseen or off-limit parts of urban areas or industrial facilities and making pictures of the beauty of natural decay, before they are trashed, demolished or renovated. These buildings can be hospitals, castles, manors, industrial buildings or private houses. Mostly the buildings are not accessible and visiting them is often dangerous. Locations have nicknames, information about these locations will not be given! The reason for this is to protect these often monumental buildings from vandalism. An urban explorer doesn't destroy anything or takes anything with him. The golden rule in urban exploration is: "Leave nothing but Footprints, Take nothing but Photo's". Most of my pictures are HDR. I try to leave them as photo realistic as possible. We'd like to thank Bas for sharing his photos. Visit his website for more of his work.
