Chilean Miners: The Rescue

Chilean Miners: The Rescue

After months under ground the 33 trapped Chilean miners have started emerging from the collapsed San Jose mine which they've had to call their home since August. Each miner will be pulled up in rescue capsule Phoenix for the 600 meter ride to sunlight. Each trip takes up to 20 minutes. Once daylight has been reached the miners await a life of interviews, books, movie deals and happy families. The first miner to be pulled up was Florencio Avalos who was greeted by cheers and a big hug from his 7-year-old son, wife and the Chilean President.
