Germany, together with Spain were the hot favorites to win the Euro 2012 championships before it started and some good games against Denmark, The Netherlands and Greece only cemented that view. Spain is already in the final after beating Portugal and Germany only had to beat the unfancied Italian team. However, Super Mario had his shooting boots on and scored two goals to send Italy into the final. Germany were but a mere shadow of how they can play. The questions will get asked, were the players tired, did the coach make the wrong tactical decisions, was it just bad luck, but sometimes the opposition is just better on the night. Italy played forward, attacking football and had a class act in Mario Balotelli to score the goals. It’s a Spain vs Italy final. My money is now on Italy to win.
