I did not see this game, so I can’t really judge about the stat of play. To be sure of going through to the quarter finals Denmark had to win. Germany were already on 6 points, but even they were not 100% sure of going through. Germany took the lead through Lukas Podolski, who was playing his 100th game for his country, but Denmark clawed one back through Krohn-Dehli with an excellent header. In the second half Germany secured all 3 points when Bender scored. Germany go through with the maximum of 9 points from the 3 games and now face Greece in the quarter finals.
