My name is Wilson Slader, I am from Yarmouth, Maine and currently am studying Social Work at Champlain College in Burlington, Vt. I started becoming interested in photography when I first went to Guatemala when I was 15, at the age of 18 and 4 trips to Guatemala later I bought an Olympus Evolt 410 e and began teaching myself techniques, After living in Guatemala a year I was able to realize my passion for helping others, as well as traveling and photography. I recently traveled to Haiti, where I worked at a summer camp for at risk youth in the Jacmel region. I was amazed by the resilience of the people and their love for life. I find that through photograph you are able to share your experiences much better than through words, and hopefully when people see my pictures they will be inspired to learn more about how they can help to better our world.
